Berniece Kessler

Berniece J. Kessler, 77, of Bismarck, passed away Saturday, March 1, 2025, surrounded by her family.

Visitation will be held one hour before the service at the church. 

Berniece was born to the late Gerrit and Dorothy Rowerdink in Linton, North Dakota. She graduated from Strasberg High School in 1965. Berniece returned to college and graduated from United Tribes Technical College in 1994, receiving her associate's degree in practical nursing. She worked at the Linton Hospital, Bismarck Hospital, and Baptist Home and retired from Missouri Slope Care Center after 30 years of caregiving. She loved to travel to Nevada with her family.

Berniece is survived by her husband, Robert Kessler, of 55 years. Her children are Greg (Sherri) Rowerdink, Yancey (Melissa) Kessler, Duke (Millie) Kessler, Deniece (Ray) Bauslaugh, and Layton Kessler. She has five grandchildren: Stoney (Kaitlyn) Kessler, Christopher Bauslaugh, Isabella Bauslaugh, Jordan Bauslaugh, Chance Standridge, and three great-grandchildren, Hadiley, Benson, and Calla. She has two sisters, Gloria Rowerdink and Kathy Kosel, and many nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her twins, Darnell & Bernell.

She will be missed by those who knew and loved her.
