Visitation will be held on Thursday, March 9, from 5:00 to 9:00 PM, at Parkway Funeral Service, 2330 Tyler Pkwy, in Bismarck, where a vigil service will begin at 7:00 PM.
Beth was born May 13, 1962 to James and Yvonne (Guttenberg) Schulte in Jamestown, ND. She was the second oldest of five children. She attended school in Jamestown, where she met many of her lifelong friends whom she cared for greatly. While at Jamestown High School, she participated in concert choir, and was on the swim team and drill team. She graduated in 1980.
Beth met the love of her life, Kelly DeKrey, at the University of Mary in Bismarck in 1986. They were married Sept. 8, 1990 at Cathedral of the Holy Spirit in Bismarck. Beth was a devoted wife and true partner to her loving husband. They made their home in Bismarck, raising their two precious children. Their daughter, Lindsey Taylor, was born June 21, 1993. Their son, Landon Noah, was born July 9, 1998. Beth’s family was her greatest joy and accomplishment. The family bond they shared was inseparable.
Beth dedicated over 33 years to caring for residents at Baptist Health and Rehab. Beth served the Lord every day through her work. She was an advocate for all of the residents and families she encountered. She had a deep connection with long-term care and it was evident that being a social worker was her calling. Her passion was to help others in any way needed in a kind and caring manner.
Beth’s family grew on Aug. 31, 2018 when she gained a son-in-law, Dean Chumley. She always described him as the missing piece to her family’s puzzle. Then on Oct. 9, 2020, Beth was promoted to Grandma, after the birth of her first grandchild, Greyson James, to her daughter and son-in-law. She was destined to be a grandmother. Greyson was her pride and joy.
Beth enjoyed listening to music, going for drives with her husband in their convertible, loving on her dogs, and shopping for just the right things for loved ones. Her faith was strong and her love of her family was evident in all she did. Birthday celebrations were very important to her. Beth was truly beautiful inside and out. Her greatest talent was her ability to make people feel special and at ease. She brought warmth and comfort to any conversation. Her family and friends will treasure how she always genuinely listened, cared for, and comforted them.
Words cannot say how much she will be missed. Beth was truly loved, and her compassionate spirit inspired all whose lives she touched. Her life was a blessing to those who knew her. The legacy of her love for her family will last forever.
