Betty June Fredrickson, 75, Bismarck, died Saturday, July 28, 2018, at Miller Pointe Nursing Home in Mandan. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm on Friday, August 3, 2018, at House of Prayer Lutheran Church, 1470 S Washington St, Bismarck, with Pastor Dave Swonger officiating. Visitation will be from 5:00 pm – 7:00 pm on Thursday, August 2, at Eastgate Funeral Service, 2302 East Divide Avenue, Bismarck, where a prayer service will begin at 7:00 pm. Burial will be at St. Mary’s Cemetery, Bismarck. Betty June (Howe) Fredrickson was born June 14, 1943, in Velva, ND, the first child of Clayton and Helen (Sullivan) Howe. She was raised in the rural Velva area, attended the Mimer School (Howe School) through grade 8 and graduated from Velva High School in 1961. As a young girl she was active in the Pleasant Valley 4-H Club and continued her involvement in 4-H for many years. On January 14, 1962, Betty married Roger William Fredrickson at Oak Valley Lutheran Church in Velva. Following their marriage, they moved to Bergen, ND, where they farmed until 1969 when they moved to Minot. They moved to Bismarck in 1982 and Betty continued to reside in her home until she moved to a nursing home in 2016. While in Bergen and Minot, they became parents of three daughters, Robyn, Heidi, and Wendy. Betty was a life-long homemaker, inspired by her mother, grandmothers, early participation in 4-H, and the Bergen Homemakers. Whether on the farm in Bergen or their homes in Minot and Bismarck, Betty was a dedicated wife, mother, and grandmother who enjoyed cooking, working on crafts, sewing, and doing family ancestry. A lover of dogs, Betty extended her sensitivity and compassion to all four-legged friends, but especially Buttons, Lady, Albert, Denver, and Patches. Betty was a member of the Oak Valley Lutheran Church in Velva, Christian Lutheran Church in Minot, and was a current member of the House of Prayer Lutheran Church in Bismarck. Betty is survived by her husband, Roger, Bismarck; daughters, Robyn (Derek) Smith, Buzzard’s Bay, MA, Heidi, Bismarck, Wendy (Randy) Kaiser, Bismarck; six granddaughters, Tiffany (Jon) Silverberg, Chelsea (Noah) Nordhoff, Natalie Smith, Heather, Ashley, and Amber Kaiser; two great-granddaughters, Katharine Silverberg and Addaleide Nordhoff; her brother, Neil Howe, Fargo; her sister, Debbie (Todd) Haga, Bismarck; sister-in-law, Linda Howe, Velva; her uncle, Gordon (Darlene) Dahl, Sawyer; as well as several nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Donald Howe; and nephew, Daniel Haga.
