Cremation has taken place.Beverly was born on May 14, 1928, eldest child of Thomas & Mabel (Quandt) Forbes in Chicago, IL. Much of her childhood was spent on a farm in Churchbridge, Saskatchewan where her family relocated after her father's company closed due to the depression. She attended high school in Iowa after a move there in spring 1944; she graduated from Moorhead High School, Moorhead, MN in 1947. While a student at NDSU she met and married Howard Howe in December of 1948. The couple settled in Mandan, ND where they raised their three children and lived until moving to Bismarck in 2011. Beverly was a gifted seamstress and happy to take on any of the creations her daughters came up with over the years- both were considered two of the best dressed throughout their school years. Her talents also ran to men's wear as well as millinery, wedding dresses, home décor-her daughters are sad to say they only inherited a part of her wonderful ability.Bev's flower beds at her home on Old Red Trail were showstoppers as evidenced by the number of vehicles that would slow down to look and enjoy. She was genius at rotating various types of flowers in/out so her beds were overflowing with blooms and color from spring through frost. "Bev's flowers" were truly a work of art.She very much enjoyed attending and cheering her children and grandchildren on at their sporting events--basketball, baseball, track, gymnastics, football, softball, tennis-she was always in the stands. Beverly was not only a sports fan but an avid and successful bowler. Her many high average, high score trophies confirmed her abilities and the southpaw bowler with the big hook was very proud to have participated in the bowling competition at the Prairie Rose Games.Christmas Eve at Grandma's was a given tradition that will be sorely missed by her family . Her wonderful Christmas baking was another talent thoroughly enjoyed by family , neighbors and friends who looked forward to their box of Christmas cookies arriving in the mail.Beverly as was her husband, Howard, a small plane pilot- training to be able to take over the reins and get the plane landed safely should the occasion arise. Luckily her skills were never called upon in this area but the family knew they were in safe hands with her as co-pilot.Beverly is survived by son, Scott (Kathy); daughters, Connie Whittington and Hildy (Kevin) Oberlander all of Bismarck; her grandchildren Wendy (Jake) Baukol, Kelly (Emmy) Howe, Nicholas (Alexis), Quinn and Tyne Oberlander; great-grandchildren Callie and Abby Baukol, Landon and Hayden Howe; sister, Donna (Wayne) Moll; brother, Bill (Dagne) Forbes; as well as many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband of 67 years, Howard; her parents; her sister Sharon; grandson Christopher Howe; and son-in-law Reece Whittington. There was a span of 54 years when there was at least one dog and usually multiple dogs sharing the Howe family household. Each dog seemed to choose her/his favorite family member but we all knew that Mom was the one most beloved by all of the four legged family members. She was the one who was always there to feed, hug & nurse back to health when necessary. Most importantly, she was the one there to console sad pups when their favorite kid headed back to college on Sunday afternoon. Because of her great love of all animals we ask that in lieu of flowers please consider a donation to the Central Dakota Humane Society or the Dakota Zoo. Beverly would be truly honored knowing this would help the many Boxers, Great Danes, German Shorthair Pointers as well as a lone Irish Wolf Hound find happy homes as all of them did with our mother. <iframe src="https://portal.midweststreams.com/services/iframe/5616" scrolling="no" width="648" height="400" frameborder="0" webkitallowfullscreen mozallowfullscreen allowfullscreen style="margin-left:auto; margin-right:auto; display:block;"> </iframe>
