Blaine Schock, 64, Bismarck, passed away April 26, 2023. Mass of Christian burial will be held 10 a.m. Tuesday, May 2 at Church of Corpus Christi, 1919 N Second St., Bismarck. A livestream will be available on the church's YouTube, listed here.
Visitation will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. Monday at Church of Corpus Christi, Bismarck. A rosary/vigil service will begin at 7 p.m.
Burial will be held at St. Mary’s Cemetery, Bismarck.
Blaine was born May 10, 1958 to Emil and Doris (Walth) Schock in Bismarck. He was raised and educated in Wishek, graduating from Wishek High School with the Class of 1977. He attended Bismarck State College and obtained an Autobody Technician degree. Blaine spent many years employed with Brendel’s Collision and Paint before illness prevented him from working.
On September 5, 1981, Blaine married Bernie Brendel in Napoleon. The two resided in Bismarck where they raised their children, Ashley and Austin.
Blaine’s passion was restoring his 1963 Impala. Blaine also enjoyed spending time on the river during the summer, but his greatest loves were his 5 grandsons. He enjoyed attending all of their sporting competitions and activities. Family time was very important to Blaine and they enjoyed many travels together whether it was for his grandchildren’s’ hockey tournaments, professional sporting events, and family vacations.
Blaine is survived by his wife, Bernie, Bismarck; children, Ashley (Tyler) Wetsch and Austin (Holli) Schock, all of Bismarck; five grandsons, Beckham, Maverick, and Dempsey Wetsch, and Taves and Briggs Schock; sister, Gloria (Kirk) Flaa, Sioux Falls, SD; brothers and sisters-in-law, Albert (Patty) Brendel, Bismarck, Betty (Clarence) Jahner, Bismarck, Matt (Betty) Brendel, Bismarck, ND, Pete (Elaine) Brendel, Bismarck, ND Phyllis (Gene) Meidinger, Wishek, ND, and Raphael (Ellene) Brendel, Napoleon, ND.
The family would like to thank Dr. Rakshit with Sanford Health, the wonderful staff of CHI St. Alexius, Dr. Zaidi, and Dr. Kayani for all their exceptional care.
