Brett Bowerman

Brett Arthur Bowerman, 37, Bismarck, ND, died February 9, 2018, at Sanford Hospital in Bismarck. Funeral Services will be held at 4:00 pm Thursday, February 15, 2018, at First Lutheran Church, 800 N 7th St., Bismarck, with Rev. Allen Wagner officiating. Visitation will be from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Parkway Funeral Service, 2330 Tyler Parkway, on Wednesday, February 14, and prior to the service on Thursday, February 15, from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm at the church. Burial will take place at a later date. Fellowship and Lunch will follow the funeral in the church basement. Parking will be available in the Bismarck High School parking lot on Thursday. Brett was born January 23, 1981, in Bismarck to Bob and LaDonna (Trautmann) Bowerman. Brett attended Robinson Public School until it’s closing in 1998. Brett finished his Senior year at Tappen High School graduating in 1999. Following graduation, Brett attended BSC for a short time and then went out to San Francisco to be with his brother Brock who was waiting for a heart transplant. While there, Brett began work as an apprentice electrician under the supervision of his cousin, Steve Bowerman. Brett returned to ND where he worked as an apprentice electrician and lastly as a Journeyman with Ennen Electric of Bismarck. Brett worked with his parents at Bowerman Insurance the past six years and still served customers he thoroughly enjoyed working with. Brett had a competitive spirit which his family and friends can attest to. From racing his snowmobile, to slalom water skiing, to trying to beat Brock and Brietta at basketball and entering body building competitions. He was very disciplined at this and worked very hard to build his body. He enjoyed deer hunting and Pick-Up Pulls with his dad. He also helped with seeding and harvesting on the farm.   Brett was an all or nothing guy evident in how he lived his life. Who else jumps from 849’ with only a cord attached to your waist or drives a snowmobile across open water.  With this zest for life, he enjoyed action packed movies with super heroes and sci-fi movies, especially Star Wars. While in California he took up boxing and this interest continued as he enjoyed watching boxing matches. He loved his family and friends dearly and cheered on his beloved Chicago Bears and Atlanta Braves. He was very proud of his two children, Brita and Braxton. He enjoyed watching Brita in hockey and gymnastics and Braxton at Taekwondo.   His family and friends will miss his sense of humor, smile, laughter and his political views (well maybe). His Grandpa Art will miss visiting Brett as he did everyday these last few months. Brett is survived by his two children, Brita and Braxton and their mother Sue Dursma; his parents, Bob and LaDonna Bowerman, Robinson; his sister, Brietta (Kenn) Iverson, Jamestown and their two girls, Claire and Adley; his grandpa, Art Trautmann, Bismarck; his aunts and uncles, Wes and Cindy Trautmann, Robinson, Lanna and Shawn Slaby, Jamestown, Deb and Virgil Wisdom, Washburn, Sarah Bowerman, Wilton, and his special great-aunt, Gladys Wick, Mandan; his cousins, Mike (Jennifer) Bowerman, Washburn, Kelsey (Cody) Roehrich and Aiden, Bismarck, Casey (John) Patzner and Maisie, Bismarck, Chase Trautmann, Robinson, Courtney (Bo) Riskedahl and Haddie and Haven, Steele, Molly (Landon Rachel) Fargo, Abby Slaby, Bismarck, Marissa (Matt) Wisdom-Welton and Marshall, McCoy and Marley, Bismarck, Grant (Brooke) Wisdom, Fairbault, MN; and other family including, Fran and Doug Wick and Scott, Bismarck. He was met in Heaven by his brother, Brock; his grandparents, Charles and Merna Bowerman, Velma Trautmann; and his uncle Rick Bowerman.   Memorial donations can be given to Bethany Lutheran Church and/or Cemetery Fund in Robinson and Heavens Helpers Soup Café in Bismarck.
