Bruce Delane Delzer was born on January 30, 1938 in Venturia, North Dakota to Emil and Emelia (Lutz) Delzer. He passed to his heavenly home on April 22, 2024.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM, Friday, April 26, at Bismarck Baptist Church, 2211 LaForest Ave, Bismarck.
Visitation will be held from 5:00-6:30 PM, Thursday, April 25, at Bismarck Baptist Church. A prayer service will begin at 6:30 PM.
Burial will be held at Sunset Memorial Gardens, Bismarck.
Bruce was raised in Ashley, ND. He graduated from Ashley High School and attended Jamestown College and Ellendale College. He married Phyllis Horner on August 31, 1958 in Ashley and moved to Bismarck the following year.
He began his career in Bismarck working for Yegan Dairy, eventually becoming a parts manager for Sweeney Brothers Tractor Co., International Harvester and retiring from Case IH.
Bruce enjoyed camping with his family, fixing cars and being involved in his church. He spent many years playing softball, culminating in his induction into the North Dakota Softball Hall of Fame.
Bruce is survived by his three daughters, Barbara (Ron) Peterson, Elizabeth (Glenn) Herr, Sheila (Jeff) Becker; nine grandchildren, Ian (Katie) Schmidt, Aaron (Anna) Schmidt, Ashley (Reed) Mehus, Brock (Bailey) Hiltner, Jennifer (Grant) Bollingberg, Barrett (Patti) Herr, Jeremy (Ali) Herr, Jesse (Brittany) Becker, Graham (Mia Sky) Becker; 18 great-grandchildren, sister Debra (Bob) Wingenbach, sister-in-law, Pat Gates and brothers-in-law, Jerry, Michael and Vince (Betty) Horner.
Bruce was preceded in death by his parents, Emil and Emilia; wife, Phyllis; sister and brother-in-law, Leona and Darvin Werth; and brother-in-law, Michael Gates.
Memorials can be made to Bismarck Baptist Church or the Bismarck Rehabilitation Center.
