Candida "Candi" Lynn Rhoades, 48, of Bismarck passed away Wednesday, July 10, at Sanford Health with the comfort of her family by her side.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 am Monday, July 15, at Parkway Funeral Service, 2330 Tyler Parkway, Bismarck. Cremation has taken place.
Visitation will be held from 5:00 pm – 7:00 pm Sunday, July 14, at Parkway Funeral Service, where a prayer service will begin at 7:00 pm.
Candi Rhoades was born on February 22, 1971, in Bismarck to Reuben and Elma (Knoell) Schmidt. She was then raised by her stepfather Richard Barth. Candi was the baby of ten children.
On February 13, 1993, she married the love of her life, Thomas (Tom) Rhoades whom she shared many of life joys with. Together they had three beautiful children, and five grandchildren. She also leaves their three dogs, Izzy, Daisy and Duke.
Candi worked at Bismarck Public Schools as an aide on the bus for many years until she retired in 2015 to stay home and be with her grandchildren. More than anything Candi loved spending time with her family.
She had many passions with her husband, working karaoke every weekend was a favorite of theirs. She has met many friends along the way. Together they shared their love of music by going on casino trips to as many concerts as she could, and loved her Green Bay Packers!
She enjoyed cooking and baking for everyone! Her amazing cooking will be missed by all! She loved garage sales and buying things for everyone as often as she could. She also enjoyed all the family trips to Green Bay, Wisconsin to visit family. She had a heart of gold, and was always there for anyone who needed it.
Candi is survived by her husband of 26 years Tom, their 3 children Marissa (Brad) Ensz, Eric (Tracie) Rhoades, Kyler Rhoades and 5 grandchildren, Nevaeh, Alexzandria, Gabryela, Silas and Sawyer all of Bismarck. She also leaves behind her step-mother in law, Margie O'Shea, her brothers, Gene Schmidt, Dale (Tracey) Barth; sisters, Bonnie Schmidt, Rita (Jim) Schmidt, Debra (Terry) Hoerer, Sharon (Mike) Wolf all of Bismarck, Darla (Wayne) Ratzak, of Williston. And many nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephew, whom all held a special place in her heart.
She was preceded in death by her father, Reuben Schmidt; her mother, Elma Barth; her step-father, Richard T. Barth; her mother-in-law and father-in-law, Carol and Jim Rhoades; her brothers, Glenn and Gary Schmidt; and her grandparents.
