Carmen Mae Sorenson, 90, went peacefully to her heavenly home on November 12, 2020.
She was born February 28, 1930 to Harry and Frances (Arntz) Blount in Bismarck, ND.
She graduated from Fullerton High School; then attended Presentation School of Nursing in Aberdeen, SD, and graduated as a Registered Nurse. She also did postgraduate work at Marquette University in Milwaukee, WI.
On August 3, 1957, she married Elmer C. Sorenson; they were together 42 years.
Carmen was dedicated to nursing, caregiving and volunteer work. She loved music and especially enjoyed attending concerts with others who shared that love. Carmen was a kind and caring person and will be greatly missed by her family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents and sisters JoAnne Richmire, Beulah Rathe and Cleo Hicks.
Surviving sisters are Rhoberta Wegner, TX, and Patricia Goodrich, MN, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Carmen will be laid to rest with her husband at North Dakota Veterans Cemetery.
Mass of Christian burial will be 10 a.m. on Thursday, Nov. 19, 2020 Corpus Christi Catholic Church, 1919 N 2nd St, Bismarck. The service will be live streamed on the funeral home’s website. A rosary service will begin at 9:30 a.m. Burial will take place at the North Dakota Veterans Cemetery, Mandan. Visitation will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 18, 2020 at Eastgate Funeral Service, 2302 E Divide Ave, Bismarck.
