Carol Nelson

Carol Jean Nelson passed away on January 8, 2024.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00AM, Friday, January 12 at Faith Lutheran Church, 1402 E Ave C, Bismarck.

Visitation will start an hour before the service begins.

Interment at the North Dakota Veterans Cemetery.

Carol was born in Alamo, North Dakota on February 16, 1934 to Emil and Alice (Ramsfield) Forsberg. After graduating for Alamo High School, Carol's career took her to the American State Bank, 1st National Bank, and Minot Public Schools, leaving a trail of positive influence and quiet efficiency.

On July 27, 1957, she married Robert E. Nelson and their lives were entwined for 55 years. They cherished their Minot home until 2009, when they relocated to Bismarck to be closer to family.

Church was a place where she flourished in acts of service. She loved tending her garden, canning, whipping up wonderful meals and delighted in playful pinochle battles.

Carol's legacy lives on in her son, Eugene; daughter Debbie; grandchildren Tylor, Paris, and Sierra.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert; parents and sister, Betty Opperud.
