Cecilia Dorothy (Rudnick) Dosch, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, mother-in-law, aunt, sister, and friend to many, passed away peacefully on Thursday, March 28, 2019 at St. Vincent’s Care Center.
Mass of Christian burial will be held at 10:30 AM on Monday April 1, 2019 at St. Mary’s Parish, 806 E. Broadway Ave, Bismarck.
Visitation will be from 5:00 pm – 7:00 pm on Sunday, March 31st at Eastgate Funeral Service, where a Catholic Daughters Rosary/vigil will begin at 7:00 PM. Burial will be at St. Mary’s Cemetery in Bismarck, immediately following the funeral.
Cecilia, daughter of Paul and Hattie (Schuelke) Rudnick was born in McHenry County, ND on December 30, 1934. She grew up in Anamoose, ND, graduated from Anamoose High School and later graduated from St. Alexius School of Nursing in Bismarck.
Cecilia married John Sebastian Dosch on September 20, 1956 at St. Mary’s Church in Bismarck. From this union, they were blessed with 10 children.
Over the years, she worked at St. Alexius Hospital, St. Vincent’s, Bismarck Baptist Home, and Annunciation Monastery as a nurse and caregiver. Cecilia was a member of Catholic Daughters and St. Vincent’s Auxiliary. She was proud to be a recipient of the 20-gallon donation award from United Blood Services.
Cecilia is survived by her children, Mary Ann (Greg) Morford, Kathy (Steve) Rau, Andy (Jen Hoerner) Dosch, Jim (Becky) Dosch, Diane (Kennen) Huck, and Steve (Bernadette) Dosch of Bismarck, Tom (Pat) Dosch of St. Cloud, MN and Paul (Mary) Dosch of West Fargo. She is survived by 29 grandchildren – Shawn, Karl, Angela, Brian, Bethany, Tom, Ryan, Evan, Brett, Mariah, Darla, John, Christopher, Benjamin, Andrew, Emily, Nicholas, Jacob, Austin, Tessa, Rachel, Matthew, Landon, Jenna, Dylan, Dawson, Drew, Pacey and Tabitha; Great grandchildren Madeline, Charles, Nolan, Allison, Samantha, Vail, Veronica and one more due in July, as well as her brothers and sisters – Matt, Angeline, Leo, Gilbert and Dolores.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, John; their daughters, Joyce and Theresa; granddaughter Lindsey; her parents, Paul and Hattie, and brothers, Lawrence and Wendelin.
A special thanks to the caregivers at Northland PACE and St. Vincent’s Care Center.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be given to Light of Christ Catholic Schools in Bismarck.
