Charles J. Winbauer (“Charlie”), 65, passed away on October 30, 2022, at his group home.
A memorial service will take place at 11 a.m., Saturday, November 5, 2022, at Parkway Funeral Service, 2330 Tyler Parkway, Bismarck.
Burial will follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery in Bismarck.
Charlie grew up in the Bismarck/Mandan area and was known by many in the community. If you saw a man riding a bike around town in the 1970s, ‘80s or ‘90s, it was probably Charlie. No matter the weather, Charlie rode his bike to his favorite spots even if it meant having icicles grow on his beard.
Charlie spent much of his time at the Pony Express and also frequented various local car dealerships. Charlie always loved cars and was never afraid to tell someone if their car was “junk.” Even at the end of his life, Charlie had asked to go for a drive to look at all the cars.
Charlie received services from and worked for Pride Industries and HIT, Inc. for most of his adult life. He touched lives wherever he went and loved to be around people at all times. He enjoyed watching the TNT channel and cop shows with his roommates and cherished caregivers.
To know Charlie was to love Charlie.
Charlie is survived by his siblings, David Winbauer, Jane Eisenzimmer, James (Tammi) Winbauer and Mary Winbauer; and his nieces and nephews, Katie (Deon Paulson) Winbauer, Kenneth Winbauer, Khloe Winbauer, Zoe Eisenzimmer and Drew Eisenzimmer.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Kenneth and Teresa Winbauer; and his brother, Stephan Winbauer.
