Charlie was born March 9, 2009, in Rochester, MN, at the Mayo Clinic, to proud parents Isaac and Elysa Smith. He was born with Hypoplastic left heart syndrome and endured many heart surgeries, among lots of other surgeries throughout his 9 years of life.
Despite having gone through so much in his life, he was the happiest and sweetest boy who loved everyone and had no problems showing it. He was happy, energetic, fearless, social, and so loving. He loved wrestling with his Dad and siblings, getting right in there and having so much fun. He loved being outside swinging and jumping on the trampoline, reading books, playing with toys, standing as close as he could to the TV, popping his thumb in his mouth and being as perfectly content as ever.
Charlie loved going to church and visiting with everyone from the youngest to the oldest. He loved going to school, being social and missed not being there when he couldn’t make it. Most of all, Charlie loved being with his family. Whether it was hanging out at home watching movies with family, all snuggled up, or get-togethers with family. He loved all his family so much. He was so close to his brother and sister, Mom and Dad, and loved spending time with them. He was also so close to his grandparents, aunts, uncles, and cousins. Charlie absolutely loved seeing them and going over to their houses and destroying something. He loved to make a mess! Charlie was so loving and gave the best hugs and kisses. He will be greatly missed by us all.
Charlie had the best doctors and nursing staff and he loved them all so much.
