Chenoa Porter, 41, passed away on June 19, 2020 at Sanford Health, Bismarck. A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, June 24, at Parkway Funeral Service, Bismarck.
Chenoa April Carol Porter, her name means White Dove of Peace, was born on April 13, 1979 to Kenneth Tennancour and Della Peltier in Kentucky.
She grew up in Rolette and graduated from Rolette High School in 1998. She wanted to be a teacher, so she moved to Bismarck to attended college. This is where she met the love of her life, Cole Porter and the two were married in 2005.
They had a baby girl, Isabella Marie, who was born on January 15, 2007. Isabella passed away the same day and is now reunited with her mother. Chenoa was very family orientated and everything was family and friends. When she walked into a room it would light up with her smile.
She was endlessly filled with life and shared that with everyone she encountered. Chenoa had numerous health problems throughout her life, but her strength shined through right to the end.
She loved everyone she met and never encountered a stranger.
Chenoa is survived by her husband, Cole Porter; mother, Della Bruce; father, Kenneth Tennancour; siblings, William Lunde, Waylon Lunde, Wesley Lunde and Samuel Tennancour; nieces and nephews, Cheyanne Lunde, Riley Pister, Emma Pister, Morgan Lunde, Temperance Lunde, Avery Lunde, Tilly Lunde and Wyatt Lunde; sister-and-brother-in-law, Leslie (Darin) Schill and their children, JoRae (Levi) Thiel, JaeLynn (DJ) Schadegg; great nieces, Emeila, AddyLynn and BryLeigh; and many aunts, uncles and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her daughter, Isabella Marie Porter.
