Christine was born on March 28, 1927 on a farm near Temvik, ND, to Fred and Eva (Serr) Job. She attended a small country school while working on the family farm. While working in Linton, at the age of 19, she met Wilbert Sayler. They got married on January 15, 1946. Shortly after, they moved to Minneapolis while Wilbert attended barber school and she worked as a nanny. After Wilbert finished school, they moved to several different small towns in North Dakota before eventually settling in Bismarck. Their daughter Jacalyn was born on February 28, 1955. Shortly after Jacalyn’s birth, Christine attended night school and graduated from Capital Commercial College. She did secretarial work before deciding to follow her true passion of becoming a beautician. She graduated from Christie’s Beauty School in the early 1960’s. Throughout her career as a beautician, she worked at several different salons in Bismarck.

Christine enjoyed tending to her rose and vegetable gardens. She also loved cooking and baking. She was very well known for her German recipes, including strudel and kuchen, and also had requests every holiday season to make her famous divinity and fudge. Hosting card parties with friends and going dancing with Wilbert were favorite activities of hers. Above all, she loved spending time with her family. She made sure her daughter, granddaughters, and great-grandchildren always knew they were loved. She made sure her home was always filled with love and laughter, and you always left feeling happier than when you came. She will be greatly missed by many.

She is survived by her husband, Wilbert; daughter, Jacalyn (Dan) Haus; granddaughters, Traci (Lance) Anderson and Kristi (Casey) Carlson; great-granddaughter Annika Carlson; great-grandsons, Bennett and Nolan Anderson; brothers, Curtis Job and Herman (Susan) Job; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Theodore, Arthur, Herbert, Freddie, and infant brother, Arnold; sisters, Elizabeth, Ida, and Ann; and in-laws, John and Karolina Sayler.
