Connie Neigum, age 66, Bismarck ND, died June 8th at Sanford Medical Center after a year-long courageous fight with cancer.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 11:00AM, Thursday, June 13 at Parkway Funeral Service, 2330 Tyler Parkway, Bismarck.
Visitation will be held from 6:00PM to 8:00PM, Wednesday, June 12 at Parkway Funeral Service.
Connie Neigum was born in Bismarck, on February 16, 1958, to John and Betty (Kopp) Wolfe. She was raised and educated in Mandan. She graduated from high school in 1976. Connie met Peter in October of 1972 and they became high school sweethearts. They were married on May 25, 1979. They were blessed with two children, Toby Neigum, Bismarck, and Eliza (Augustine) Anukwu, Fort Cavazos, Texas. They were also blessed with 10 grandchildren, Adalynn, Octavian, and Lennox Neigum. Quincey, Malcolm, Wallace, Terrell, Frannie, Effie-Lou, and Essie-Mae Anukwu.
She worked at Midway Lanes in 1976 and started working at Bismarck Public Schools with the Becep program in December of 1979. She worked with preschool children with disabilities and they were the light of her life. Connie was in the classroom for 28 years and then went on to ride the school bus for Bismarck public school until 2019. She rode with all ages, but mostly preschool children and she enjoyed every minute of it. Connie learned so much from the teachers at Becep and saw how the bus drivers had the kindest hearts.
Connie's pastimes were enjoying her children and grandchildren as they were growing up, reading, puzzle books, pets, music, and warm weather.
Connie is survived by her husband, Peter; two children, Toby and Eliza (Augustine) and 10 grandchildren; her mother, Betty Wolfe, Mandan; mother-in-law, Theresia Neigum, Moorhead, MN; her sister, Adeline (Tony Heckman) Warrensourg, IL; five brothers-in-law, Mike (Mary Alice) Bismarck, Alex (Sandy), Mandan, Gary (Kim) Bismarck, Tony (Amy) Wausay, WI, Richard (Andrea Muresan) Bismarck; two sisters-in-law, Mary Jo, Bismarck, Theresia (Junnell Krabbenhoft) Fargo, ND, a very special aunt, Marlene Helbing, Mandan; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her father, Johnny Wolfe; father-in-law, Peter Neigum; brother-in-law, Jake Neigum, and godchild, Melanie Neigum.
