Constance "Connie" Louise Magilke

August 31, 1945 — March 24, 2024

Constance Louise Magilke, known to many as "Connie," has passed away on March 24, 2024, at Sanford Hospital in Bismarck, ND. The world lost a beloved individual who touched the hearts of many through her kindness and dedication.

Mass of Christian burial will be held at 2:00 PM, Tuesday, April 2, at Corpus Christi Church, 1919 N 2nd St, Bismarck. 

Visitation will be held from 4:00-6:00 PM, Monday, April 1, at Eastgate Funeral Service, 2302 E Divide Ave, Bismarck. A rosary/vigil service will begin at 6:00 PM. 

Burial will be held at Mandan Union Cemetery, Mandan. 

She was born on August 31, 1945, in Devils Lake, ND, to Harriet & Edward Allard. She graduated from Devils Lake Central High School in 1963. Connie was very active in many high school activities. 

Right after high school she moved to California for one year. She then returned to Devils Lake and attended Lake Region Junior College, graduating in 1966. Connie's professional journey led her to a fulfilling career as a secretary for workman's comp in Bismarck. After taking 10 years off to raise her family, she devoted 25 years of her life as an administrative assistant at the Department of Human Services before retiring in 2008. Her commitment and work ethic left a lasting impact on all who had the pleasure of knowing her.

Connie met the love of her life, Bernie Magilke, and got married on November 21, 1970. They lived in Bismarck, ND raising their family. They were married for 39 years. 

Outside of work, Connie found joy in various hobbies and interests. She was an active member of Sporting Chance alongside her husband. Camping and gardening brought her solace and allowed her to immerse herself in nature. Traveling was another passion of hers, especially when accompanied by her beloved sisters and her son, Chad. Connie loved entertaining and cooking for her friends and family. 

In her final moments, Connie was surrounded by loved ones who will forever cherish the memories created with her. She leaves behind a legacy of love and warmth that will continue to resonate with all who knew her. 

She is survived by her children, Kristi (Dan) Pesavento, Grand Rapids, MI, Chad Magilke, Bismarck, ND and Jennifer (Jason) Muth, Cavalier, ND; three beloved grandchildren, Hannah, Caleb, and Jacob Muth; siblings Diane Herda, Debbie Quam, Kevin (Mary) Allard, Mark (Gale) Allard; sisters-in-law, Marlene Magilke, Janice Schwartzbauer and Chere Allard; brother-in-law, Kennie Magilke. 

Among those who preceded Connie in death are her parents, Harriet and Edward Allard; in-laws, Christ and Bertha Magilke; husband, Bernie; brother, Gary Allard; brothers-in-law, Joe Herda, Ken Quam and Clarence Schwartzbauer; sister-in-law, Carol “Susie” Magilke; and nephews, Randy Magilke and Conan Magilke.

In lieu of flowers, the family prefers memorials to Sporting Chance, PO Box 1156, ND, 58502.
