Corraine Ova, 55, Bismarck, died February 16, 2018, at Sanford Hospital in Bismarck. Corraine was taken from us unexpectedly and suddenly after suffering from a brain aneurysm. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 am on Wednesday, February 21, 2018 at Spirit of Life, 801 1st St SE, Mandan, with Msgr. Chad Gion officiating. Time of gathering will be held from 6:00 – 7:00 pm on Tuesday, February 20, at Spirit of Life, where a vigil service will begin at 7:00 pm. Corraine was born in Linton, ND on December 7, 1962, to Esther and Thomas Jacob. She graduated from Linton High School and went on to RD Hair Styling College where she pursued her passion of being a cosmetologist. She married the love of her life, Bryan Ova, on June 18, 1988. Corraine and Bryan were inseparable and enjoyed many hobbies and adventures together. In the summer you could usually find them on the river catching their limit, fishing along their secret spots. If the fish weren’t biting they would play a round of golf, just to keep busy. In the winter’s you could find them somewhere tropical soaking up the sun. Corraine was known to be even more of a free spirit while frolicking along the beach with the hot sun on her skin and sand between her toes. In October of 1989 they welcomed their only son, Kyle, who became the light of their lives. Corraine and Kyle shared a love and bond that's indescribable. She supported Kyle in all of his life decisions and always stuck by his side, even throughout all of his shenanigans. She was so proud of Kyle and all of his accomplishments, especially when he introduced her to Erica. She couldn’t have been more excited that he found such an incredible person that she was able to call her daughter-in-law. Corraine and Erica enjoyed many girl dates together while the boys were off being boys. Corraine was passionate about everything she did in her day to day routine, including working with her clients and co-workers at Hair of the Century, where she has worked for the past 24 years. Many of her clients became her good friends, which only brought more joy to her life. Because of her love for the outdoors, friends and family could see her walking her daily route when the weather allowed. She was always the life of the party and made sure everyone was having a good time. Corraine’s personality and energy thrived and was contagious to everyone in the same room that it was hard not to feel the same enthusiasm. Her family and friends meant the world to her and she would go above and beyond for them at any given moment. Corraine’s passion of helping others followed her with her very last breath as she was able to give the gift of organ donation. Corraine was the definition of selfless. She has given her entire life and chose to give the ultimate gift after her death. She was able to spread her love, joyfulness, and vivacious energy to several lucky recipients, hopefully ones who love the beach as much as she did. Anyone that knew Corraine, knew that she was truly one of a kind, and had a presence about her that could never be replicated nor forgotten. She was the anchor of her family, and will be genuinely missed by all who were fortunate enough to know her. Corraine is survived by her husband, Bryan, and their only son, Kyle (Erica); her father Thomas Jacob; along with three sisters, Caroline Korkowski (Tom), Dianna Fettig (Kevin), Theresia Johnson (Pete); two brothers LeRoy Jacob (Laurie) and Daniel Jacob (Rena); as well as her nieces and nephews. She had unfathomable love for every family member. She is preceded in death by her mother, Esther Jacob; and nephew Brandon Fettig.
