Corrine Hummel

Corrine A. Hummel, 83, Bismarck, died October 20, 2017, at CHI St. Alexius Health, Bismarck. Services will be held at 10:30 am Friday, October 27, at Parkway Funeral Service, 2330 Tyler Parkway, Bismarck, with Rev. Corey Warner officiating. Burial will be held at 1:00 pm Friday at the North Dakota Veterans Cemetery, Mandan. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at Parkway Funeral Service, Bismarck. Corrine A. Hummel was born on November 14, 1933, in Reeder, ND, to Clarence and Alma (Peterson) Ellefson. She was raised and educated in the Bucyrus area schools. Corrine taught numerous years in the area country schools and then worked as a bookkeeper for the Adams County Creamery. On September 18, 1965, Corrine was united in marriage to Alvin Hummel at the American Lutheran Church in Bowman, ND. They moved to Renton, WA, where Alvin worked for Boeing and Corrine worked as a secretary. Corrine and Alvin returned to Mott, ND, living just north of Mott along Hwy 8 and eventually moved to Bismarck, where they resided until their deaths. Corrine enjoyed life to the fullest and was a friend to everyone. She loved cooking and entertaining. Corrine’s greatest love was working outdoors in the garden and her flowers. Her yard was always meticulous. Just last year she received an award for the nicest yard in her development. Corrine is survived by her sister, Marilyn Castello, Roswell, NM; sisters-in-law, Meridean Sprecher, Carol Hummel; brother-in-law, Arthur (Marilyn) Hummel; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Alvin Hummel; her parents, Clarence and Alma Ellefson; mother-in-law and father-in-law, John Sr., and Carolina Hummel; sister and brother-in-law, Gail and Einar Mandal; brothers, Mervin and Georgine Ellefson and Donald Ellefson; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Tom Castello, Sr, Willie and Edith Forsch, John Jr. and Claudia Hummel, Hilda and Albert Gruebele, Jakie and Esther Hummel, Gary Sprecher, Bob and Eleanor Johnson, Edwin Hummel; nieces, Peggy Gruba, Janet Hummel; and nephews, Jerry Netzer and Dennis Hummel. Memorials may be given to the Mott Gallery of History and Art.
