Curtis “Curt” Bracht, 60, Bismarck, passed away of natural causes on November 3, 2019. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM, Friday, November 8, at Trinity Lutheran Church, 502 N 4th St, Bismarck with Rev. Lee Herberg officiating. Family will start greeting guests at 10:00 AM at the church.
Burial will be held on Friday, November 8, at Fairview Cemetery, Bismarck.
Curt was born on May 9, 1959 in Bismarck to George and Hazel (Thompson) Bracht. He attended Bismarck High School and received his GED in 1979. He then went into the Job Corps in Montana and later entered the work force. Curt helped build irrigation systems in Bismarck until he moved to Texas where he made many memories. He eventually moved back to Bismarck and continued working for many years in construction and wood working.
He enjoyed being outdoors, hunting, fishing, and exploring nature. Nothing made him happier than being in God’s country – where ever he may have been. He especially loved sharing these moments with his niece, Abby. He loved sharing all his stories, stretching them a bit when need be. However, the story of the pheasant flying out of the freezer was proven to be true.
Curt also loved watching the NDSU Bison play football, NASCAR racing, and throwing darts. Some of his most cherished moments were doing these things with his family and friends. His goofy personality and servant’s heart will surely be missed by all.
He is survived by his mother, Hazel Sinness; sisters, Karen (Arlyn) Ohlhauser, Bismarck, Arlys Bracht, Bismarck, and Deb (Annie) Drummond, MI; nieces, Jessica (Jennie) Drummond, MI; Abby (Noah) Dubord, Bismarck; many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends; and his two furry nephews, Oscar and Teddy.
He was preceded in death by his paternal and maternal grandparents; fathers, George Bracht and Don Sinness; and brother, Gary Bracht.
