Cynthia F Schmidt

Cynthia F. Schmidt, 69, Bismarck, died May 17, 2017, at the Baptist Health Care Center, Bismarck. A memorial service will be held at 12:00 Noon Friday, May 26, at Parkway Funeral Service, 2330 Tyler Parkway, Bismarck. Family will greet visitors one hour prior to the service at Parkway Funeral Service. Cremation has taken place. Burial will be held at 2:00 pm Friday at the North Dakota Veterans Cemetery, Mandan. Cynthia Smylie was born September 22, 1947, in Fargo, ND, the daughter of Francis and Audrey (Hoffman) Smylie. She was raised on the family farm and graduated from Wheatland High School in 1965. She started working for IBM in Bismarck in the early 70s and retired after 33 years. Cynthia married Frank Schmidt on January 21, 1977, in Honolulu, HI. They had one son, Kristopher, on April 16, 1980. Cynthia is survived by her son, Kristopher Schmidt, Austin, TX; sister, Sharon (Erv) Drabek, Green Valley, AZ; brothers, Mike (Carol) Smylie, Pelican Rapids, MN, Scott (Kelly) Smylie, Cedar Park, TX; nieces and nephews, Monique (Justin) Doll, Mathew (Melissa) Guerin, William and Cole Smylie. She was preceded in death by her husband Frank in 1994; and her parents.
