Dale Aune

Dale passed away peacefully on March 28th, 2024.

Dale was born in 1957 in Bismarck ND to Richard and Letha (Ulrich) Aune, he was the youngest of three children and the only boy. He grew up in Wilton, ND where he enjoyed helping his dad farm, hunting, fishing, and anything to do with vehicles.

Dale attended school in Wilton and graduated in 1975. He later married Mary Davenport and had two children of his own. He worked at Melroe much of his life until they shut down the Bismarck location. He then became a truck driver, refueling trains up until he retired.

While his kids were growing up, he loved taking them hunting, fishing and to the races along with teaching them everything he could about working on vehicles. He did everything he possibly could do to give his kids a great life! As his kids grew older, he passed on his interest in motorcycles and four wheelers to them. They had a lot of fun together just out riding and messing around on them.

Once his kids were grown, he finally bought himself a Harley and rode it as much as he could. His kids developed that same interest and followed in Dale's footsteps getting themselves each a Harley. They would go on road trips with their Harleys as much as possible.

Dale absolutely loved having grandkids! He was able to teach some of them how to hunt and fish and spent a lot of time taking them hunting and fishing.

After Dale retired, he spent much of his time in his house working on and building guns, hunting, and fishing while he was able, and reloading ammunition.

He is survived by his daughter, Lora (Keith) Bobbe, Dickinson, ND; daughter-in-law, Nicole Hatzenbuhler, Mandan; grandkids, Madisen and Mason Aune, Adam, Angel, Hunter, Kara and Roger Bobbe; sisters, Berdell Wilson, Bismarck, ND, Roberta (Robert) Ziegler, Longview, TX; and close family friend, A.J. Davenport, Bismarck ND.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Richard and Letha Aune; son, Dale R. Aune; brother-in-law, Donald Wilson and close family friend, Dave Davenport.
