Dale Murschel Sr., 87, Bismarck, passed away on March 20, 2024.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00AM, Wednesday, March 27 at Trinity Lutheran Church, 502 N 4th St, Bismarck. Visitation will be held an hour before the service begins.

Dale was born in Zap, ND on August 16, 1936 to Fred and Clara Murschel. He attended Wittenberg School, North of Zap. He stayed home and worked on the farm and for neighbors and friends in the area until the age of 18. He then went to work at the Garrison Dam on the Spillway Basin and also at home on the farm. When the job at the Dam was finished in the fall of 1956, he went to work for the Zap Grain Elevator in the spring of 1957.
On June 21, 1957 he married his sweetheart, Evangeline “Vangie” Horning in Zap. Vangie's uncles from Burke, Idaho talked him into working in the underground lead and zinc mine in Burke and they lived in Wallace, Idaho. In February, 1958, they moved back to Zap to work the Elevator. It was 1961 when Dale began managing the Grain Elevator in Carlyle Montana, then Halliday, ND then on to Fairview Montana.
They moved to Bismarck in 1989 and did Real Estate for Century 21 Morrison for two years before moving to Golva, ND in 1991 to manage the Grain Elevator there. In 2000, they moved back to Bismarck and continued Real Estate work for Century 21 Morrison and also began working for Bismarck Public Schools for several years then finished at Family Fare (Dan’s) Supermarket. Dale really had a passion for working, meeting and talking with people.
Dale used to be active with the Volunteer Fire Department, Ambulance and First Aid Training, etc. for many years. He was also active on Church Council and other church activities, PTA, Chamber of Commerce, and involved in promoting Agriculture, Roads, and Bridges, which took Dale and Vangie to meetings in Bismarck, ND, Helena, Mt., and Washington, DC. He enjoyed music and did some playing in bands playing mainly accordion and guitar.
Dale is survived by his wife of 66 years, Vangie; four boys, Dale (Roxi) Murschel Jr., Gillette, Wyoming, Douglas (Bernie) Murschel, Bismarck, DeLon (Theresa) Murschel, Sidney, Montana, Dwight (Michelle) Murschel, Williston, ND; ten grandchildren ten great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild and sister, Darlene Morast, Bismarck, ND.
Preceding him in death were his twin sisters, parents, Fred and Clara, and granddaughter, Melinda Murschel.
