Dale Strom, 87, Bismarck, died June 12, 2018, at Augusta Place - a Prospera Community, Bismarck. A funeral service will be held at 10:00 am on Monday June 18, 2018, at Parkway Funeral Service, 2330 Tyler Parkway, Bismarck, with Pastor Dave Gallagher officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at Parkway. Burial will be at Rose Hill Cemetery in Beulah. Dale Strom was born August 16,1930, on a rural Beulah home to Victor Strom and Edna (Adamson) Strom. He was the oldest of six siblings, Duaine, Leslie (infants), Eunice (deceased), Jerome and Judy. He attended a rural country school to the 8th Grade and graduated from Beulah High School. He then spent time helping on the farm. He enjoyed working with his dad (Victor). Then he spent some time working for A'Bit and Tool Company at Tioga and a Power Company in Dickinson where he met his future wife Frances (Hlavinka) Strom. They were married on June 15, 1957 (61 years ago). They lived in Beulah for two years and then bought a farm home 14 1/2 miles north of Carson and lived there 58 years until Dale became ill. They were members of the New Leipzig Baptist Church. He liked to bowl, travel and visit with the neighbors. He had a pilot's license and spent time in the air with his friend, Carlton Leverson, besides building metal things. Listening to gospel music was a favorite thing to do and he was a fan of Dale and Roy Rogers whose son he met on a trip to Branson. But his most favorite place to be was with the grandkids. Dale is survived by his wife, Frances; daughters, Luz Mccann (Mark) and Shirley Messmer (Steve); brother, Jerome Strom ( Marilyn); sister, Judy Dearduff (Roger); sisters-in-law, JoAnne Balas (Harold) and Maxine Cline ( Donald); brothers-in-law, Delbert Hlavinka (Marlys), Duane Hlavnka (Carol), and Ray Tangsrud (Eunice); grandkids, Ashley Hoffmann , Fargo, Adam Hoffmann, Bismarck, Jordan Messmer, Fort Collins, CO, Brendan Messmer, Fort Collins, CO, Andrew Mccann, Bismarck, and Alex Mccann, Bismarck; and several nieces and nephews.
