Daniel Paul Engelstad, 60, Bismarck, ND originally from Jamestown, ND passed away Friday, Feb. 10, 2023 at the Baptist Health & Rehab, Bismarck, ND.
A memorial service will be held at 1:00PM, Friday, February 17 at Eastgate Funeral Service, 2302 E. Divide Ave, Bismarck.
Inurnment at St. Mary’s Cemetery, Bismarck.
Per Dans request – please dress casual and preferably Minnesota Vikings attire or a purple shirt.
Dan Engelstad was born December 5, 1962 in Bismarck, ND to Ralph and Maureen Bader. At the age of 3, he was adopted by Melvin and Corinne “Kitty” Engelstad.
Dan attended school at St. Mary’s Central High School and went on to College at North Dakota State College of Science for a Welding Trade.
In 1983, he moved to Jamestown, ND to be with his biological siblings, Lester, Dale and twin sister Diane. His brother, Dale had started his own business, City Wide Window Cleaning, which he operated for 23 years, but died very unexpectedly in 2008 – Dan then took over that Window Cleaning business up until his untimely massive stroke in November of 2016.
Dan enjoyed the outdoors especially playing softball (teaching his twin sister everything she knows about the sport of softball gave him great joy), playing frisbee with his brother Dale at all times of the day and night, and anything that dealt with the outdoors. Was a huge fan of the Minnesota Vikings.
Dan is survived by his twin sister, Diane Randall; her children, Shane, Josh and Andy, Aberdeen, SD, nieces; Jennifer Schlosser and Brittany Hieb, Jamestown, ND; brother, Blaine (Carla) Engelstad, Bismack, ND; his children, Mike (Deniese) Engelstad, Hudson SD, Cathryn Job, Bismarck; sister, Mary Beth (Howard) Palmer, Minot; her children, Stephen Palmer, Anne (Demrick) Houser both of Minot, Leah (Thomas) Wheeling, Bismarck, and David (Jess) Palmer, Minot.
He was preceded in death by his biological brothers, Lester and Dale Schlosser, his parents, Melvin and Corinne “Kitty” Engelstad and nephew, Thomas Palmer.
Dan would like to express his Love and gratitude to all the Baptist Health & Rehab, staff for their wonderful care and for making him feel at home and that he was a part of your family.
