Darlene "Dolly" G. Leer, passed away on June 2, 2024.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 9:30 AM, Saturday, June 8, at Corpus Christi Church, 1919 N 2^nd St, Bismarck, with Father Logan Obrigewitch officiating. To view the service livestream, click this link Corpus Christi - YouTube

Visitation will be held from 5:00-7:00 PM, Friday, June 7, at Eastgate Funeral Service, 2302 E Divide Ave, Bismarck. A prayer service will begin at 7:00 PM.

Burial will be held at Sunset Memorial Gardens, Bismarck.

Darlene "Dolly" Gay Leer was born on August 26, 1937, the youngest child of eight born to Gilmund O. and J. Gay (Shelkey) Leer. Dolly grew up in Bismarck under the watchful eyes of her parents and six older brothers.

After graduating from Bismarck High School, Dolly embarked on what would become a 45-year career in nursing. An active member of Corpus Christi Catholic Church in Bismarck, Dolly served as a eucharistic minister and participated in numerous Bible study groups. Throughout her adult life, Dolly enjoyed the company of her four-legged family members: her Pekingeses Punky and Snoopy, and more recently, her poodles Princess Anne and Abby Jo.

On June 2, 2024, Dolly was greeted in heaven by Jesus and a whole host of Leers, including her parents, sister Betty Lou Sylvia who died in infancy, brothers and sisters-in-law Burdette and Jeanne Leer, Eugene and Ellen Leer, Jerome Leer, Sylvester and Lois Leer, Lincoln Leer, and Joan Leer. She is survived by her brother David of Bismarck, her sisters-in-law Patsy Shepard of Minot and Mona Leer of Scottsdale, AZ, 15 nieces and nephews, a plethora of grandnieces and grandnephews and great grandnieces and great grandnephews, numerous longtime friends who were very dear to Dolly throughout her life, and special four-legged friend, Brody, who brought great joy to Dolly during the past several months.
