David Froemming, 75, Mandan passed away on October 30, 2024, in a Mandan Care Center.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM (CST), Wednesday, November 6 at Parkway Funeral Service, 2330 Tyler Pkwy, Bismarck.
Interment will be held at 2:00 PM (MST), Wednesday, November 6 at Carson Community Cemetery, Carson, ND with Military Honors.
David was born in Elgin, ND on December 14, 1948 to Emil and Frances (Krecklau) Froemming. He graduated in 1966 and then served in the Marines in 1970 for basic training in California, transferred to Camp Lejeune, North Carolina and back to California until being honorably discharged in 1973.
David worked for a butcher in Regent, ND in the early years and then for Iseman Moving in Fargo before moving to Mandan. He managed and drove truck for Gold Label Feeds in Bismarck. Then moved onto driving over the road from Lesmeister Trucking in Bismarck, finally driving in state delivering gas and fuel. His truck driving career lasted 40 years before retiring.
Dave’s passions were fishing, camping, hunting, collecting coins and spending time with family and friends. He was a lifetime member of the Elgin Legion Club.
Dave married his high school sweet heart and the love of his life, Sharon McDowall in 1970 and they were blessed with two children, Chad and Kristie. David married Marlene Brunelle in 1991 along with her two children, Jeremy Brunelle and Adam Kuntz.
David is survived by his son, Chad (Katrina) Froemming; daughter, Kristie (George) Stroh; stepsons, Jeremy Brunelle, Adam (Erin) Kuntz; 12 grandchildren, Trent, Dani, Piper, Brandi, Jordan Froemming; Brooke & George Stroh; Michael, Xander, Rosalyn Brunelle; Logan & Conner Kuntz; ex-wife, Marlene Brunelle; niece and nephew; special friends, Larry & Sheri Thompson; extended McDowall family and Brunelle family.
He was preceded in death by wife Sharon; brother, Dale; half-brother, Glenn Fredrick; parents, Emil & Frances Froemming, father and mother-in law, Gene & Peggy McDowall and brother-in-law, Gene (Squirt) McDowall.
David’s family would like to thank the dedicated staff at Sanford 2SE and Miller Pointe for the amazing care.
