David A. Harter, 76, passed away on Sunday, December 1, 2024, at St. Alexius Hospital.

Born on July 7, 1948, to William and Ruth Harter, David was the youngest of three siblings, and was raised in Bismarck. He graduated from Bismarck High School.
He was once married to Patty Volk and to this union one son, Cody, was born. David worked at Walmart before he transitioned to a meaningful career in environmental services at MedCenter, which later became Sanford. His unwavering commitment to his work was evident until his retirement in 2019, when health challenges led him to step back from his role.
On December 2, 2015, David married Miti Ceaser. They spent the last nine years together creating memories that will forever be treasured, including yearly trips to the Black Hills. David passed away one day short of their nineth wedding anniversary.
He was a devoted father to his son, Cody, and cherished their time together. David relished the great outdoors, where he found joy in camping, biking, baseball and all outdoor activities. A passionate Minnesota Vikings fan, he wore his colors proudly.
He is survived by his wife, Miti and her extended family both here in the United States and the Marshall Islands; son and daughter-in-law, Cody and Tanya and their children, Kristalynn, Keegan and Charli, all of Bismarck; sister-in-law Marguerite Harter, Chandler, AZ; sister-in-law, Peggy (Jeff) Dietz and their boys, Kendall and Jaden and their families, along with a number of nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and siblings, Jerry Harter and Maxine (Bryce) Hill.
