David Owen Walters, age 80, Bismarck, ND, passed away on October 9, 2017, at his home surrounded by his wife and daughters. Services will be held at 10:00 am Friday, October 13, 2017, at The Sanctuary, 2630 East Avenue A, Bismarck. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery, Bismarck. Visitation will be held from 4:00 pm – 8:00 pm Thursday, October 12, at Parkway Funeral Service, 2330 Tyler Parkway, Bismarck, where a sharing of memories will begin at 6:00 pm. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the church. David was born August 14, 1937, in Buchanan, MI, to Ernest and Carrie Walters, and graduated from Buchanan High School. He married Atha Finch on August 4, 1956, and together they raised four daughters. David was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, pastor, leader, mentor, and friend. He was a church planter that had a deep love for God, his wife, kids, family, friends, and the Apostolic faith. Never one to consider anyone a stranger or beneath his friendship, he loved to help people and to witness about the saving and life-transforming power of God. He is survived by his wife, Atha, his children, Paula (Mike) Woods, Patty (Mark) Soberg, Phyllis (Rick) Kiemele, and Pam (Jon) Hussey; 22 grandchildren; 23 great grandchildren; sister, Barbara (Carl) Thurston, and brother, Paul (Esther) Walters. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ernest and Carrie Walters; sisters, Emily Walters and Janiece (Marvin) Arnold; and brother, Charles Russell (Ann) Walters.
