September 28, 1982 — May 22, 2024

Dawn Marie Power (Spotts) 41 of Bismarck, ND spread her wings and soared to heaven on May 22nd, 2024.

A memorial service will be held at 10:30 AM, Tuesday May 28, at Parkway Funeral Service, 2330 Tyler Parkway, Bismarck. A celebration of Dawn’s life will follow at 12:30 PM, at Stonehome Brewery, 1601 N 12th St. Bismarck.

Dawn began her journey in Napoleon, ND on September 28, 1982 and attended grade school there. Moving to Bismarck in 1995 she attended Simle Middle School and graduated from Bismarck High School in 2001. She went on to attend college and graduated from Bismarck State College, continued with a Bachelor of Science from Minot State University and finished her education with a Bachelor of Science and Accounting at Dickinson State University.

Dawn married the love of her life and soulmate, Durwin Power in Mexico on January 25th, 2011 and that love multiplied and brought two amazing boys into this world, Durwin Jevin and Tayvin James. Dawn loved being a mother and raising her boys was her highest achievement, her boys were her world.

Dawn began her career at Investcore, Inc. as its Chief Financial Officer in November 2015. During her tenure, she provided invaluable financial leadership not only to Investcore, Inc. but also extended her expertise to its diverse business interests, including Triton Homes, Triton Plumbing and Excavating, Inc., Bismarck Big Boy, Blarney Stone Pubs, Trademark Realty, and the Hotel Donaldson. Dawn's dedication and financial acumen significantly contributed to the growth and success of these enterprises.

Dawn loved the great outdoors. One of her favorite hobbies was camping and she loved being on the lake, boating, tubing with the kids and floating with her girls. She also was an avid hunter and fisherwoman who always made sure everyone knew when she out fished her husband. Dawn loved soaking up the sun and was sure to make time for plenty of beach vacations. There was nothing more she hated than being cold, so the sun was one of her absolute favorite things. Dawn had a flair for adventure and loved to ride the Harley and their dirt bikes at the desert with her boys. Dawn loved cooking and took great pride at hosting family holidays, meals with friends, and family dinners where she insisted everyone sat and ate around the table together. Family was everything to her. Dawn was a social butterfly and could make friends wherever she went. Before pursuing her career in accounting, her job at Peacock Alley over the course of many years created many lasting friendships and ties within the community. Dawn collected friends and created one of the largest girl tribes in Bismarck. Everyone that met her knew she was a rainbow and she loved every one of them fiercely.

Dawn is survived by her husband, DJ Power, sons, Jevin and Tayvin; father, Lee (Julie) Spotts; brother, Mitchell (Nicole) Spotts, nephew, Beckham Spotts; and sister, Ashley Spotts; grandmother, Ione Spotts and step-grandmother; Julia Ibach; mother, Charlene Spotts (Larry Selland); sister, Kimberly Moos, nephews, Paxton and Rowan and nieces, Ava and Ella; Mama Val Power; brother in-law, Kasey (Krystal) Power, nephew and niece Kadence and Kassidy.
