Della M. Hulm

Della May Hulm, age 92, Bismarck, ND, died on March 11, 2019 at Sanford Medical Center.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 am Saturday, March 16, at Church of Corpus Christi, 1919 N 2^nd St., Bismarck, with Rev. Paul Becker officiating.

Burial will be held at Sunset Memorial Gardens, Bismarck.

Visitation will be held from 5:00 pm – 8:00 pm Friday, March 15, at Parkway Funeral Service, 2330 Tyler Parkway, Bismarck, where a prayer service will begin at 7:00 pm.

Della was born in Woodruff, ID on May 6, 1926, the daughter of James and Sarah (Jones) Beeton. She graduated from Malad High School in 1944. Della married Mike Hulm in 1946, when he was stationed in the Navy at Clearfield, UT. From this marriage they had four children, Sandi, Gary, Pam, and Cindy.

During the early years of the marriage, Mike and Della lived in Hague, ND, and Chamberlain and Pierre, SD. The family moved to Bismarck in 1964, where she resided for the remainder of her life. Mike passed away in 2005.

Although Della was a housewife when the children were younger, she later worked at JC Penny’s for 11 years and then as a receptionist for Basin Electric until her retirement.

Della will always be remembered as a person who loved her family and enjoyed visiting with her many friends and relatives. Despite her medical challenges, she was the type of person who did not let her limitations affect the things she enjoyed doing. Della was a classy lady and certainly had a “zest for life!”

Survivors include her children: Sandi Peterson, WA; Pam (Ben) Ingersoll, OH; and Cindy (Craig) DeGree, Bismarck, ND; her grandchildren, Chad (Kari), Melissa (Joel), Michael (Kim), Jenny, Christopher, Christine, Courtney, Matthew, Kristen, and Michael, and 11 great-grandchildren. Della is also survived by two of her brothers in Utah: Gerald (Shirley) Beeton and Martell Beeton. Survivors also include her sister-in-law, Dolores Hulm Kramer from Strasburg, ND, and special friends, Donna Hipfner and Bev Larson. There was also a special place in her heart for her 4-legged friend, Squirt!

Della was preceded in death by her husband, Mike; son, Gary; son-in-law, Ron Peterson; granddaughter, Jessie Hulm; sister, Margaret Laws; sister-in-law, Elaine Beeton; and many of her husband’s siblings and their spouses.

A special thank you to all of the Sanford medical staff for their special care of Della, not only recently but over the years.
