Our beloved wife, mother, grandmother, Delores Klein, 84, Bismarck, went to be with her Lord and family on May 19, 2017. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 am Wednesday, May 24, at Church of Corpus Christi, 1919 N 2nd St, Bismarck, with Rev. Paul Becker officiating. Burial will be at Sunset Memorial Gardens, Bismarck. Visitation will be held from 5:00 pm – 7:00 pm Tuesday, May 23, 2017, at Eastgate Funeral Service, 2302 E. Divide Ave., Bismarck, where a vigil/rosary service will begin at 7:00 pm. Delores was born July 25, 1932, to Joseph and Emma (Meyer) Dauenhauer in Richardton, ND. She was raised and attended school in Killdeer. Through family, she met Leonard Klein, fell in love with the cowboy and they were married on October 16, 1950, in Killdeer. They started their lives on a farm near Center before moving to Bismarck in 1952. Delores worked at the Capital lunch room and then went on to Gateway Mall where she was the housekeeper for many years. She enjoyed family and friends and talking on the phone. Delores loved to garden, crochet, read books, and going out to eat. She always looked forward to seeing her family and grandchildren, whom she loved dearly. Recently, her great-grandchild, Kaitlyn, was the highlight of her life. Delores is survived by her husband of 66 years, Leonard; two daughters, Jane Van Beek and Sherry (Joel) Schmitt; her grandchildren, Shannon (Jared) Bathurst, Jesse (Amy) Van Beek and Cameron (girlfriend Caitlyn) Van Beek, Travis (Alicia) Schmitt, Derek (Lindsey) Schmitt, and Kendra Schmitt; her great-grandchildren, Kaitlyn Bathurst, Avri and Anthea Schmitt, Cartyr and Koltyn Schmitt; brother, Eugene Dauenhauer; sisters, Lorraine (Simon) Gerhart, Lori Christensen, Betty (George) Currier; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; sons-in-law, Bradley and Randall Van Beek; brothers, Felix and Alfred; and sisters, Gladys, Violet, and Helen. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to the American Cancer Society.
