Delvin D. Westby Sr.

Delvin (Del) Westby, loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather, passed away February 5, 2025, surrounded by family.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 1:00pm, Saturday, February 15, 2025 at Parkway Funeral Service, 2330 Tyler Pkwy, Bismarck. Family will greet visitors one hour prior to the service. 

Born on January 15, 1937, to Arthur and Laura (Skardet) Westby, Delvin grew up on the family farm north of Stanley, ND.

Delvin was united in marriage to Rose Jensen on May 28, 1960. The couple lived in many places, including Bowbells, Genoa, and finally Tioga, ND, where they settled and raised their family. Del and Rose relocated to Bismarck, ND in 2009. 

Delvin enlisted in the Army and was stationed in Germany in 1956. After his military career he held positions in different industries, including a filling station and elevator, and eventually found his niche in the oil field. Delvin was a manager in the oil field and retired after many years with Trico Industries, Inc.

Delvin enjoyed taking care of his yard and garden. He and Rose also enjoyed traveling. He was a very social person who always had a story that would make you laugh, and a quick-witted sense of humor that kept you on your toes.

Delvin is survived by four of his children: Dale Westby Jr. of Bismarck, JoAnn Bennett of Bismarck, Ronald (Jenny) Westby of Fair Grove, MO, and Teresa (Fred) Myers of Bismarck. Delvin is also survived by his grandchildren/great grandchildren: Aryca (Josh King) Bennett, Hayden, Ava, and Emery; Savannah (Jeremy) Ness and Remington; Erin Westby, Coleman (Erin) Dees, Sophia and Adeline; Tyler Myers, Kristian Skistad, and Nicole (Griffen) Fettig.

Delvin was preceded in death by his loving wife of 64 years Rose; parents; father and mother in-law Marvin and Florence Jensen; son Danny; grandson Tarin Westby; brothers Ardele and Harold; sister-in-law Violet Malik; brother-in-laws Donald, Norman and Darrell Jensen; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
