Dennis Frank Mills, 78, Bismarck, ND passed away on September 14, 2018 at Missouri Slope Lutheran Care Center. The funeral will be held at 11:30 AM on Wednesday, September 19 at Parkway Funeral Service, 2330 Tyler Parkway, Bismarck, with Rev. Larry Giese officiating. Visitation will be held from 5:00 pm - 8:00 pm Tuesday, September 18 at Parkway Funeral Service, with a prayer service beginning at 7:00pm. A private family burial will take place at a later date at Fairview Cemetery in Bismarck. Dennis Mills was born on July 1, 1940 in Bismarck, ND. His parents were Henry and Frances (Brown) Mills of Menoken, ND. He was baptized at Glencoe Church south of Menoken. He grew up on a farm near Menoken, attended rural grade school in the area and graduated from Bismarck High School in 1958. During his young years he participated in 4-H and in high school, FFA. He farmed with his parents until they retired to Bismarck. At that time, he took over the farming and ranching business on the family farm. Dennis married the love of his life, Kathy Eliason, on March 8, 1968. They were blessed with two children, Tammy and Trent. Dennis and Kathy celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary this year. The family loved horses and went on many trail rides together and the kids participated in fairs and other events, which he loved to watch. Dennis coached basketball for the Telfer Tornadoes. He was so proud of his kids and grandkids and always enjoyed going to their events. Dennis was an avid fisherman and hunter. He especially enjoyed doing things with family members. He was so good to everyone he loved and would always bend over backwards if anyone needed help. He was a great neighbor and also had wonderful neighbors. He was quite a jokester and teaser. After he and Kathy retired, they bought a 5th wheel camper and starting going south in the winter months. They spent several enjoyable years traveling to and from Arizona. Dennis was a social butterfly and made many friends along the way. He enjoyed visiting and being around others. His kids and grandkids brought him much joy. He was very loving and caring to all. Dennis was involved in a terrible ATV accident in 2008, which left him disabled. He kept his sense of humor for many years until conditions kept deteriorating and he went to the Home in 2014. Kathy was always by his side and was the best caretaker anyone could ask for. Thanks to her, his family, and those who cared for him at Missouri Slope until his passing. Dennis was a member of the ND Stockmen’s Association, IBAND, charter member of the End of the Trail Saddle Club, and the Moose, Elks and Eagles Clubs of Bismarck. Dennis is survived his wife, Kathy; daughter, Tammy Kluksdahl; son, Trent (Shanna) Mills, all of Bismarck His grandchildren, Jayden Hausauer, Miranda Hausauer, Angel Hausauer, Julius Kluksdahl, Joey Mills, Jackson Mills and (honorary grandchild) Monte Murry. His sisters, Beverly Olson, Karen Hogue, Sharon (Jerry) Franklin, Kay Dahl, all of Bismarck and his sister-in-law, Delrene Mills of Bismarck. He also leaves many special nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, David Mills, and sister, Dolores (Lory) Olson, his brothers-in-law, Doug Olson, Peter Hogue, and Robert Dahl.
