Donald Koranda, 74, Bismarck, died December 11, 2017, at CHI St. Alexius Health, Bismarck. Services will be held at 11:00 am Friday, December 15, at First Presbyterian Church, 214 E. Thayer Ave., Bismarck, with Rev. David Reiter officiating. Visitation will be held from 5:00 pm – 7:00 pm Thursday, December 14, at Eastgate Funeral Service, 2302 E. Divide Ave., Bismarck. Visitation will continue one hour prior to the service at the church. Visitation will be held from 9:30 am – 11:00 am Monday, December 18, at Schuller Funeral Home, Wadena, MN, followed by a graveside service at Wadena Cemetery. Donald Lesley Koranda was born April 17, 1943, the son of Donald D. and Averil M. (Thomson) Koranda. He attended school in Wadena, MN, graduating high school in 1961. Donald worked for Red Owl during his high school years and then began working for Super Valu where he stayed on for 20 years. He later worked for Tucker Sales, LB Hartz, and Mason Bros., where he retired. Don enjoyed golfing, fishing, bowling, and following the Minnesota Gophers, Twins, Vikings, and Timberwolves. Don was a member of the Wadena School Board, Jaycee’s, Lion’s, and the Wadena Park Board. Donald is survived by his wife, Patti, Bismarck; daughters, Sheri (Randy) Dalen, Dawn Koranda (John Holland), Lynette (Paul) Samuelson; son, Dane Koranda (Jana Millner); his siblings, Patricia Scott, Kermit Scott, Lola Puckett, Sandee Leighty, and James Koranda; his grandchildren, Sean Cordes, Amanda Hogenson, Blake Hogenson, Brittani Hogenson, Nick (Beth) Samuelson, Tim Samuelson, and Macy Samuelson; and great-grandchildren, Andrew Cordes and Jackson Hogenson. Donald was preceded in death by his parents.
