Donna M. Meland, 75, Driscoll, entered her Heavenly home, surrounded by her family, on May 27, 2018, at Sanford Health, Bismarck. A memorial service will be held at 10:30 am Saturday, June 2, at Grace Lutheran Church, Driscoll. Family will greet visitors from 5:00 pm – 7:00 pm Friday, June 1, at Eastgate Funeral Service, 2302 E. Divide Ave., Bismarck. Burial will be at Grace Lutheran Cemetery, Driscoll. Donna was born September 5, 1942, in Moffit, ND, the daughter of Otto and Mary Schock, one of 13 children. She married Norman Meland and together with their children, made their lifetime home in Driscoll. Norm and Donna worked side by side in their little store, Norm’s Grocery and Meat Processing and was also the Assistant Postmaster for many years. Donna enjoyed spending time with her family and friends and preparing flavorful meals for them. She also enjoyed traveling near and far. Her family always planned an annual family trip to somewhere, and it didn’t matter where, as long as everyone was together. She was blessed to have traveled to many of the states and as far as Peru. Donna could also play a mean game of Candy Crush. Donna is survived by her husband, Norman; daughter, Suzette Meland (Dean); son, Erick Meland (Kemerley); daughter, Melissa Meland (Kyle); granddaughter, Jennifer Berg; grandson, Jamison Berg; grandson, Andrew Meland; a future granddaughter, due in July; sisters, Betty Salhus (Raymond), and Lillian Meehan; brother, Larry Schock (Gwen); many nieces, nephews, and family; daughter by heart, LeAnn Sabinash; and her extended Peruvian family. Donna was welcomed to Heaven by her parents; brothers; sisters; and many special friends she had made through the years.
