Donna L. Stair

Donna Lee Stair, 81, Bismarck, passed away on September 18, 2024. 

Mass of Christian burial will be held at 10:00 AM, Monday, Sept. 23, at Corpus Christi Church, 1919 N 2nd St, Bismarck. 

Burial will be held at 10:00 AM, Tuesday, Sept. 24, at Sunset Memorial Gardens, Bismarck. 

Donna was born February 13, 1943 to Joseph & Ann (Stark) Emter. She attended Glen Ullin High School and graduated in 1961.

After graduating, Donna ventured to Minneapolis where she worked for six months. After becoming very homesick, she returned to Bismarck and began working as a dental assistant. 

Donna married Robert P. Stair on May 16, 1964 at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Glen Ullin, ND. 

Donna loved being a mom. She devoted her time to the kids until they had all started school. She then began her employment with Target where she would work for 27 years. 

Donna was a Cub Scout Den Leader for many years. She was also very active as a volunteer for years at Corpus Christi. Donna was a big NASCAR fan and an avid reader. She felt though, that her greatest accomplishment in life was her children. She was very proud of all of them.

Donna is survived in life by her children, Scott (Lavonne) Stair, Apopka, FL and Holly Goshu, Katy, Texas; grandchildren, Jessica and Megan Stair and Michael and Matthew Gosher; sister, Sherry (Gerry) Lillis, Lincoln, ND; brothers, Joe Emter, Mandan, and Kelly Emter, Mandan; brother-in-law, Dennis Kress; several nieces and nephews, and lifelong friends, Mary Rukusek, Bismarck and Janis Filibeck, Glen Ullin.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Joe and Ann (Stark) Emter; husband, Robert and her sister, Linda Kress.
