Edwin Dean Namanny earned his heavenly wings on July 15, 2023 with his loving wife of almost 55 years holding his hand.
Edwin was born to Edwin and Rose Namanny on January 14, 1949 in Ipswich, SD. In 1967, after attending school, he joined the U.S. Navy to serve our country for four years, one of which was in Vietnam. During leave on December 23, 1968, he married the love of his life, Lynette (Susie) Ann Kubal in Rapid City, SD. To their union they had three children, Heather (John) Vickerman, MN, Chad (Amber) Namanny, WA and Ryan Namanny, ND. Ed worked as a union boilermaker until retiring in 2001.
Shortly after retiring Ed began his 18 year battle fighting cancer. He was a fighter never willing to give in to the disease. In between his many trips to Mayo Clinic and medical treatments he began helping his best friend Gene Wirtz of Underwood with farming, fixing and making very fond memories.
Ed and Susie lived in several places throughout their lives together and spent the last 37 living in Underwood before buying a beautiful home in Bismarck and moving in just 43 days prior to Ed’s passing.
Ed will always be remembered for being hardworking, hard headed and able to fix or make just about anything.
He was preceded in death by his father, grandparents and in-laws.
He is survived by his loving wife, Susie, three children, ten grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren and his most special faithful companion, Charlie, his dog who was also with him to the very end.
Ed: husband, dad, papa and doggie dad, your work on earth is done, rest easy until we can all be together again in heaven.
Ed’s final request is not to have a public service but a private family memorial service.
