Eleanore Wolbaum, 92, Steele, passed away peacefully surrounded by family at St. Vincent's Care Center in Bismarck.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, January 3, 2025, at St. Francis de Sales Church in Steele, ND with Reverend Peter Sharpe officiating.
Visitation will be held Thursday, January 2, 2025 at St. Francis de Sales Church from 4:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. with prayer service at 6:00 p.m.
Eleanore was born on March 3, 1932, to Martin and Bertha Wetsch. Eleanore married Mike Wolbaum in St. Anthony, ND, on November 16, 1954. The couple began their life together on a farm south of Moffit, ND, before moving to a farm north of Dawson in 1959, where they raised their nine children: John, Tom, Susan, Larry, Donna, Carol, Jeanne, Rick and Brian. In 1992, they made Steele their home. Eleanore completed her eighth-grade education and took great pride in earning her GED as an adult in 1985.
She and Mike shared many years together at the Golden Manor beginning in 2014. In 2019, Eleanore moved to St. Vincent's Care Center in Bismarck.
Eleanore cherished her family deeply. She found joy in sewing, providing for her loved ones, and spending quality time with her grandchildren.
Eleanore is survived by her children and grandchildren, John (Linda) Wolbaum of Fargo, and their children Ben and Matthew; Tom (Dorleen) Wolbaum of Bismarck and their children Derrick (Kerry) and their daughter Samara, Terrance (Alicia) and their children Elena and Joaquin and Kayla (Gregor) Schmidt and their children Koby and Lainey; Susan (Tom) Tooley of Bismarck; Larry (Angela) Wolbaum of Poulsbo, WA, and their children Lauren and Michael; Donna (Jim) McPherson of Fargo and their children Sam and Katie; Carol (Ken) Roth of Lakeville, MN, and their children Corey (Kaitlin) Roth and their son Jackson, and Kevin; Jill Wolbaum of Richfield, MN, and her children Ashley (Dominic) Bulow and their children Tritian, Addison, Abigail, Dominic Jr and Megan Swenning and her son, Grant; Jeanne (Phil) Dingman of Shoreview, MN, and their children Erin (Austin) Redepenning and Jake (Laura) Dingman; and Brian Wolbaum of Palm Springs, CA. Eleanore is also survived by her sister-in-law, Jenny Wetsch and brother-in-law Gus (MaryAnn) Wolbaum.
Eleanore was preceded in death by her husband, Mike; son Rick; son-in-law Greg Brunton; and great-granddaughter Kendi Wolbaum. Eleanore was also preceded in death by her brothers John (Rosemary) Wetsch and Lawrence Wetsch; her sister-in-law Josie (Milton) Keller; and brothers-in-law Joe (Anna) Wolbaum, Jake (Margie) Wolbaum, Harry (Lena) Wolbaum, George Wolbaum, Franklin (Jeannie) Wolbaum.
