Elizabeth “Betty” Hardy, age 89, Bismarck, North Dakota, died, Monday, December 23, 2024 at Missouri Slope Lutheran Care Center.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 AM, Tuesday, December 31, 2024 at Cathedral of the Holy Spirit, 520 Raymond St, Bismarck.
Visitation will be held from 5:00 PM-7:00 PM, Monday, December 30, 2024, with Vigil/Rosary will be starting at 6:00 PM at Parkway Funeral Service, 2330 Tyler Parkway, Bismarck.
Interment will be at the North Dakota Veterans Cemetery, Mandan.
Elizabeth “Betty” was born February 15, 1935, at Hague, North Dakota, to Joseph and Agatha (Fischer) Fischer. She was raised and educated in Hague and graduated from Bismarck St. Mary's High School in 1953. She attended Bismarck Junior College. On June 25, 1955 she married Virgil Dale Hardy in Bismarck. Together, Virgil and Betty raised their seven children.
Betty enjoyed many hobbies throughout her life: writing and writing poetry, going to rummage sales, needlepoint, photography, collecting depression glass and Swedish weaving were just a few. She worked for the Game and Fish Department, Spirit of Life Catholic Parish and the Office of Religious Education, among other jobs.
She is survived by three daughters, Nancy (Lenny) Fischer, Bowman, ND, Tina (Lance) Bauer, Bismarck, Sheri (John) Anderson, Lisbon, ND; four sons, Dale (Fran) Hardy, Mesa, AZ, Perry (Sheryl) Hardy, Mandan, David Hardy, Scott (Sheri) Hardy, both of Bismarck; one sister, RoseMarie Erling, Bismarck, one brother, Rodney (Carolyn) Fischer, Bismarck; two sisters-in-law, Alicia Fischer and Tillie Fischer; 18 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren.
Betty was preceded in death by her husband; parents and siblings, William, Frances and Paul (Elaine) Fischer; daughter-in-law, Dawn Hardy; two grandsons, James and Jeremy Hardy.
