Elizabeth R. Hill of Bismarck, died July 9, 2018, at a Garrison, ND, care facility. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 am Thursday, July 12, at Church of Corpus Christi, 1919 N 2nd St., Bismarck, with Rev. Paul Becker officiating. Burial will be at 1:00 pm Thursday at the North Dakota Veterans Cemetery, Mandan. Visitation will be from 5:00 pm – 7:00 pm Wednesday, July 11, at Eastgate Funeral Service, 2302 E. Divide Ave., Bismarck, where a rosary/vigil service will begin at 7:00 pm. Elizabeth Storey Robinson was born on April 28, 1927 at the Coleharbor Stock Farm, the daughter of George M. and Helen C. Robinson. She attended school in Coleharbor and graduated from Underwood High School in 1945. She graduated from the University of North Dakota in Grand Forks in 1949 with a degree in Home Economics. She then taught high school for one year in Minot. Elizabeth married Alton W. “Doc” Hill on September 10, 1950, at the Riverdale Community Church in Riverdale, ND. They raised their family in Grand Forks, Valley City, and Dickinson, prior to settling in Bismarck in 1967. Elizabeth was a devoted wife and adoring mother to four daughters. She spent her time raising their family with love, compassion and faith. She was active in many organizations including A.A.U.W., American Legion Auxiliary, Happy Homemakers Club, 4-H, Bismarck Horse Club, and Girl Scouts. In 2016, she was recognized as a 50-year member of P.E.O. Chapter AJ. Elizabeth and Doc delivered meals to homebound seniors for the Bismarck Senior Center for 16 years. Elizabeth also volunteered for the North Dakota Heritage Center for 25 years. Elizabeth and Doc were avid UND Fighting Sioux sports fans. They spent several winters in Arizona, where they became fans of Dixieland jazz music. They also enjoyed collecting antiques, especially North Dakota Pottery and Red Wing stoneware. Elizabeth is survived by four daughters, Patricia (Gerald) Hinsz of Bismarck, Nancy (Doug) Krebsbach of Washburn, Barbara Vetter (Tom Skaro) of West Fargo and Mary (Steve) Marquart of West Fargo; nine grandchildren, Scott Eckert (Amanda Fry) of Fargo, Kristin (Wyatt) Knutson of Wellington, CO, Ross (Doreen) Hinsz of Brainerd, MN, Beth (Ryan) Mertz of Bismarck, Jamie (Samantha) Frigstad of Bismarck, Amy Donlin of West Fargo, Kelly Donlin (Gia Rassier) of West Fargo, Nathan (Chulsie) Little Soldier of Welch, MN, and Tyler (Kayla) Little Soldier of Beulah, ND; 17 great-grandchildren, Jarod (Ashley) Eckert, Sydney (Tate) Frank, Luke Little, Max Mertz, Simon Frigstad, Madison Knutson, Benjamin, Andrew, Maureen and Evelyn Hinsz; Hunter, Jack and Charlie Salonek; Skylar and Taylon Little Solder; and Adrianna and Jax Little Soldier; and one great-great granddaughter, Ruby Frank. Elizabeth was preceded in death by her husband, Alton, her parents, two brothers, G. Clark (Majel) Robinson and Dave M. (Sheila Robinson), and her grandson, Beau James Little Soldier. The family would like to express their deepest gratitude to the staff at CHI St. Alexius Garrison for the care and kindness shown to our mother. In lieu of flowers memorials are preferred to the ND Veteran’s Cemetery, Bismarck-Mandan Symphony Orchestra, or the donor’s choice.
