Elsie Thompson

Elsie Ann Thompson, 91, from McKenzie, passed away on June 23, 2017, at Sanford Medical Center.   Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, June 28 at Parkway Funeral Service.Visitation will be on Tuesday, June 27 from 5 – 8 p.m. at Parkway Funeral Service.Elsie was born September 22, 1926, at Arena, ND, to Henry and Kathryn (Stafanovitch) Schneider. She was raised and educated in the Driscoll area. On January 23, 1951 she married Helmer “Bud” Thompson from Tuttle. They resided in Tuttle until moving to McKenzie in 1953. She was employed by the McKenzie School System until her retirement in 1991.  After her retirement she enjoyed gardening and baking.She is survived by four sons and three daughters-in-law, Marlyn of Bismarck, Clyde and Darcey of Bismarck, Randall and Jackie of Riverdale, and Milo and Lyla of Bismarck; 5 grandchildren, Ryan (Cindy), Jason, Casey (Cari), Jenna, and Joelle; six great grandchildren, Mataya, Elsie, Vanessa, Elizabeth, Jaden, Jaxon; two sisters, Violet Miller and Rose (Les) Stewart; and two brothers, John (Valdeen) Schneider and Donald (Judy) Schneider.She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Bud; five brothers, Gottlieb, Joe, Henry, William and Herbert; and two sisters, Bertha Lein and Dora Proctor.
