Erwin K. Feist, 93, Bismarck, passed away July 13, 2024 at the Baptist Home, Bismarck. Mass of Christian burial will be held 10 a.m. Thursday, July 18 at Church of Corpus Christi, 1919 N Second St, Bismarck. A service livestream will be available on the church's YouTube, available here.
Visitation will be held 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at Eastgate Funeral Service, 2302 E Divide Ave, Bismarck. A rosary/vigil service will be held at 7 p.m.
Burial will be held at Sunset Memorial Gardens, Bismarck.
Erwin was born on May 3, 1931 to Theresa and Anton Feist in Hague. They moved to Bismarck in 1952. He worked at Yegan Dairy. He went into the Army in February 1953. He was stationed in Korea and was in the service for two years.
When he returned from his honorable discharge, he married Margaret Weber on August 25, 1955. They had five children. In 1956 they moved to Milwaukee, Wisconsin for a short time while he worked at Nash Finch. In 1962 the family moved to Seattle, Washington and lived there until 1972 when they returned to Bismarck. Erwin worked for the City of Bismarck for 23 years.
During his retirement, Erwin enjoyed playing cards, going to the Casino, and watching the Minnesota Twins.
Erwin is survived by his wife of 68 years, Margaret; children, Charlan (Ken) Jangula, Harlan (Aida) Feist, Georgia (Wes) Uttke, Darrell (Val) Feist; 15 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; brothers, LeRoy Feist, Bismarck, and Harold Feist, Portland, OR; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Geraldine Feist; grandson, Wesley Feist; brother, Andrew Feist; sister, Alvina Traxinger; one granddaughter; and one great-grandson.
