Everett L. Pearson, 84, Bismarck, died September 21, 2018, at St. Vincent Care Center, Bismarck. A memorial service will be held at 10:00 am Friday, September 28, at McCabe United Methodist Church, 1030 N 6th St., Bismarck, with Rev. Mark Ehrmantraut officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the church. Cremation has taken place. Graveside services will be at 1:00 pm Friday at the North Dakota Veterans Cemetery, Mandan. Everett Leland was born March 19, 1934, in Joplin, MO, the son of William and Thelma (Vermillion) Pearson. He attended Joplin High School, graduating in 1952. Everett went on to attend college at the University of Arizona. He joined the US Army in 1953, and served in Korea during the Korean War. Everett was awarded the National Defense Service Medal, the Korean Service Medal and the United Nations Service Medal; and was honorably discharged in June of 1956. Everett married Leona May Armstrong on December 12, 1959, in Tucson, AZ. During his career, he worked primarily at Title Companies and lived in Joplin, MO, Tucson, AZ, the San Diego, CA, area, and finally settled in North Dakota. He loved golfing, bowling, baseball, and watching classic westerns. Everett belonged to the Rotary Club for many years, was a 60 year member of the Elks, and he and Leona are members of McCabe United Methodist Church. He was also the proud father of two wonderful sons. Everett is survived by his beautiful wife of 58 years, Leona Pearson, Bismarck; his two sons, Mark (Jane), Strasburg, and Tim (Malia), Anaheim Hills, CA, and Linton, ND; his five cherished grandchildren, Christine and Jonathan, Michael, Darian and Sara; and one great-grandchild, Nicolae. He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Thelma.
