Florence was born in Zeeland, ND on December 19, 1935 to Joe and Philomena (Senger) Weigel. She worked on the family farm until 1955 and then moved to Bismarck where she worked as a nurse’s aid until 1970. She married Daniel, the love of her life, on October 21, 1957 and they lived their amazing love story for 62 years. She worked at Hedahl’s Automotive from 1970-1999 and then worked part time at Edward Jones until 2013.
She was a devoted Catholic. She and Dan were members of Corpus Christi Church where she was a Eucharistic Minister, a member of St. Teresa’s Guild and volunteered many hours. She belonged to the Catholic Daughters of The Americas and during the earlier years of her marriage was a dedicated member of the Lullaby Club. She was elected as an officer of her investment club where she loved to evaluate the investments on the internet and present her thoughts to the group. Dan and Florence loved to travel. They went to Italy, Mexico, Bermuda, Hawaii, all over the US and on several cruises. She enjoyed dancing a good polka, sewing, crocheting, embroidering, playing pinochle, golf, and watching the New England Patriots. In the summer, she and Dan planted a garden and enjoyed canning their harvest. She was an excellent and adventurous cook. She donated gallons of blood and plasma over the years. Florence was fearless, smart as a whip and not afraid to try anything.
Family was always first. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.
Florence is survived by her husband, Daniel; four sons, Richard (Pam) Kiefer, Savage, MN; Randy (Linda) Kiefer, Dickinson, ND; Roger (Denise) Kiefer, Waverly, MN; Russell (Kay) Kiefer, Fargo, ND; two daughters, Tammy (Kelly) Parrett, Fargo, ND; Tricia Kiefer, St. Paul, MN; 13 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren; three brothers, Frank (Francie) Weigel, Clarence (Dianne) Weigel, Gerald (Peggy) Weigel; and five sisters, Phyllis (John) Schmidt, Sally (Mike) Jacob, Eilene (Don) Sabot, Harriet (Lee) Peterson, Geraldine (Bill) Friesz.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Joe and Philomena Weigel, and sister, Alvina Jung.
