Floyd Schulz, 81, Bismarck, died June 1, 2019, at CHI St. Alexius Health.
Services will be held at 10:30 am Wednesday, June 5, at Parkway Funeral Service, 2330 Tyler Parkway, Bismarck.
Visitation will be held from 5:00 pm – 7:00 pm Tuesday, June 4, at Parkway Funeral Service.
Burial is at Fairview Cemetery, Bismarck.
Floyd was born July 30, 1937, in Streeter, ND, the son of John and Carolina (Schlect) Schulz. He was raised on a farm near Napoleon, which he was very proud of. He graduated from Napoleon High School in 1957. Floyd entered the US Army in April 1959 and was honorably discharged in March 1961. He married Barbara Marie Weigum on January 2, 1965, at Zion Lutheran Church, Bismarck. They happily celebrated their 54th wedding anniversary this year. Floyd went to work as a heavy equipment operator for the State Highway Department, a position he held for 35 years.
Floyd enjoyed hunting, gardening, and fixing things. He was a member of American Legion Post #1, Amvets Club Post #9, and the Germans from Russia.
Floyd is survived by his wife Barbara, Bismarck; his brother, Marvin Schulz; his sister, Sadie Schilling; sisters-in-law, Eva Schulz and Elva Schulz; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and his brothers, Dale (Lorraine), Lawrence, Sandy (Hilda), and Roland Schulz; sister-in-law, Irene; and brother-in-law, Gilbert Schilling.
