Genevieve Vogel-Fetter-Robinson, 90, Bismarck, died February 15, 2018, at Augusta Place Health Care Center, Bismarck. Genevieve left her earthly life peacefully after a courageous struggle with various health issues. Mass of Christian burial will be held at 11:00 am Monday, February 19, 2018 at St. Mary’s Family Parish, 806 E Broadway Ave, Bismarck, with Msgr. Gene Lindemann officiating. Visitation will be held from 2:00 – 4:00 pm Sunday February 18 at Parkway Funeral Service, 2330 Tyler Parkway, Bismarck, where a vigil/rosary service will begin at 4:00 pm. Genevieve was born December, 21, 1927, in Flasher, ND to Jacob and Eva (Thomas) Vogel. She was raised and educated in the Flasher area. She later moved with her parents and two brothers, Nick and August, 10 miles west of Mandan. She married Joe Fetter on September 7th, 1948. They lived in Bismarck until the spring of 1951 and then moved to Billings, Montana. In November of 1950 Linda was born, and after moving to Billings, Jim was born in 1952, followed with Diana in 1954. In the spring of 1955, Joe and Genevieve with Linda, Jim, and Diana moved to the Steele/Dawson area and farmed briefly until the summer of 1956 when they moved to Bismarck. After they moved to Bismarck, their son Blaine was born in 1960, followed with Brian in 1967 and Shelly in 1970. Genevieve worked as a nurse for St. Alexius Hospital, St. Vincent’s Nursing Home, the State of ND Health Department, and for 30 years as an office manager for her son, Jim, at Jim Fetter Masonry. She was a member of the Catholic Daughters of America, Eagles Legion Auxiliary, VFW Legion Auxiliary, as well as, the Alter Society of St. Mary’s and Cathedral of the Holy Spirit in Bismarck. Joe died in 1980 and Genevieve married Phillip Robinson in Bismarck, on April 16, 1982. Her hobbies included crocheting, watching game shows, reading, playing cards, gardening, various organizations and listening to polka music. Genevieve loved her family. She is survived by her five children, Linda Katsoulis, Jim Fetter, Diana Vanous, Brian Fetter, and Shelly Petersen, all of Bismarck; two granddaughters, Naomi Fetter of Amsterdam, Netherlands, Amanda Fetter, Bismarck; her grandson, Nathan Vanous, Bismarck, with many other grandchildren; with special mention of Debbie Vogel, niece, of St. George, Utah; one great-grandson, Spencer Fetter, Bismarck, and many nieces and nephews. Genevieve was preceded in death by her husband, Phil; her parents, her two brothers; and one son, Blaine Fetter. The family wishes to express its deepest gratitude to her caregivers, Lisa Goetz and various hospice personnel and to Augusta Place where she spent her last 3 years. The family will be forever grateful to the entire staff at Augusta Place who lovingly cared for her and where she died with ultimate dignity and respect and to Hospice Care of Sanford for the care they provided.
