Gerald Peter Blotsky, 65, Bismarck, ND loving father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend went to be with the lord February 18, 2018. Services will be held at 10:30 am Thursday, February 22, at The Sanctuary, 2630 East Ave A, Bismarck, with Pastor Michael Chuppe officiating. Burial will be at the North Dakota Veterans Cemetery, Mandan. Visitation will be held from 6:00 pm – 7:00 pm Wednesday, February 21, at Eastgate Funeral Service, 2302 E. Divide Ave., Bismarck, where a prayer service will begin at 7:00 pm. Gerald was born August 18, 1952 to Peter and Mary (Bollinger) Blotsky in Flasher, ND. He graduated from McIntosh, SD High School in 1970. Upon graduation, he enlisted in the Army where he was a sharpshooter and honorably discharged Dec 13, 1976. Gerald worked hard for all of his life. He was a humble, strong and hard-working man; working mostly construction and concrete after the army. He retired from Dakota RM after nearly 30 years of employment with the company. He enjoyed his time most spent with his beloved grandchildren as well as other family and friends. His pastimes also included doing crossword puzzles, shooting pool, football games and Nascar races. Gerald is survived by his loving daughters, Kimberly Speidel, Bismarck, ND, and Lorrie Blotsky, Laguna Hills, CA; brothers, Charlie (Marla), Sturgis, SD, Bill (Pat), Vale, SD, and Jeff, Torrance, CA; sisters, Irene Bachmeier, Rapid City, SD, Marlene (Henry) Jaszkowiak, Bismarck, ND, Darlene (Don) Seiler, Sioux Falls, SD, Betty (Alvin) Kraft, New Salem, ND, Clara (Richard) Goodmanson, Lemmon, SD, Vernetta (Jake) Kraft, Belle Fouche, SD, Annette (Curt) Gehring, McIntosh, SD, and Cecelia (Blaine) Tishmack, Shields, ND; sister in law, Georgia Blotsky, Fargo, ND; grandchildren, Gage, Abel, Aurora, Erin, Landon and Madison; also many nieces, nephews and cousins.
