Gingers beautiful eyes and engaging smile will be missed by so, so many people. Ginger was a fiercely loyal friend and that was reciprocated by the outpouring of love from the whole Bismarck/Mandan area and beyond during her 2-year struggle. For that, the family thanks everyone. Ginger graduated from Century High School in 1999. During her school years, Ginger started working in the service industry and had many jobs at various local establishments including, the Bistro, Walrus, and Fridays, to name a few. She then started her career in the insurance industry and was employed for various agencies in Bismarck. Ginger’s favorite pastime was softball, even up to the end, she made sure to take the field with her teammates to try to win another game and to hang out with the people she loved. She played on many State and McQuade Championship teams. She made sure to play third base just like her dad Bob. She also loved to be around children, especially her cousins’ little ones, who gravitated around “Auntie Ginger”. Maybe her biggest passion was that of looking after her cats, Booters and Geoff, as they were a huge part of her life and they are wondering where their mommy is. On July 13, 2013, Ginger married the love of her life, Phil McMahon, at Red Fish Lake, Idaho, whose beauty was only matched by the bride that particular July day. Ginger is survived by her husband, Phil McMahon; her kittens, Booters and Geoff; her parents, Bob (Claudine) Rohde, and Laurie (Lane) Olson; her brother, Jesse (Rhonda) Rohde; her step-brothers, Kirk Anton, and Tim (Stephanie) Olson; her grandmothers, Marilyn Schlafman and Doris Olson; her aunts, Deb Hager, Kathy Sebastian and Lana Olson; her uncle, Leon ( Donna) Olson; her great-uncle, Elmer Allmendinger; her nieces, Bobbi Rohde and Millie Olson; her nephews, Justice, Stryder and Avery McMahon, Josh Lawyer and Jacob and Ryan Olson. She is also surviving by her mother-in-law, DeAnna (Richard) McMahon; father-in-law, Darrel (Teresa) McMahon; sister-in-law, Lisa (Steve) Ansley and their children Nikki and Heather; brothers--in-law, Jimmy (Molly), Tommy (Holly) and Danny McMahon; and many special cousins and friends too numerous to count. Ginger was preceded in death by her grandfathers, Gene Schlafman, Al Rohde and Clarence Olson; her grandmother, Laverne Rohde; her aunt, Jackie Mann; and her uncles, Greg Rohde and Alex (Sandy) Hager. Gingers immediate family want to especially thank Phil McMahon for spending every minute with her during the two-year battle with that dreaded disease. Phil comforted her, took care of her, and kept her spirit alive. Thank you, Phil, so much for the dedication and to keeping those vows you made on that beautiful lake in Idaho to love her for better, for worse, in sickness, and in health. You are an inspiration to us all, once again, thank you and we love you. For those of you who can’t attend, you can stream the service at Bismarckcc.org. In lieu of flowers please send any memorials to The Ginger McMahon trust at BNC National Bank, Bismarck.
