Gladys was born on April 29, 1947, the oldest daughter of Sylvester and Helen (Jahner) Zahn. She grew up in Linton and graduated from St. Anthony’s Catholic School in 1965. She also graduated from Presentation College in Aberdeen, SD.
Gladys met Dennis while working at Dal’s Dario in Linton. During their first encounter, Dennis ordered a dipped twist cone that Gladys tipped over onto the counter. Two years later, after dropping the twist cone, Gladys married Dennis, June 1st, 1968 in the St. Anthony’s Catholic Church. They had four children, Yvette, Tiffany, John and Paul. They lived on the family farm, southwest of Hazelton. She was happiest living on the farm while raising her four children.
Gladys worked many years at Cenex in Hazelton as a bookkeeper. She also worked at Desperado Trucking in Mandan. Her favorite job was working at Kohls Department Store. She enjoyed meeting and greeting people who were strangers and who were friends.
The Krumm garden and flowers were always so beautiful. Gladys so enjoyed watching Dennis plant the flowers, making sure they were just perfect. In her spare time, Gladys loved sewing and sharing her projects with others. She enjoyed cooking her favorites, kuchen and cheese buttons. Some of her other favorite things to do were playing cards with her sisters, shopping with her girls, and she LOVED spending quality time with her grandchildren and great-grandchild, whom she loved dearly.
Gladys was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother and friend to many. Gladys is survived by her husband and best friend of 51 years, Dennis; her daughter and son-in-law: Yvette and Jeff Humann, Hazelton and their three children, Derick and Kendra Humann and Mallory, Bismarck: Ryan Humann, San Luis Obispo, CA: Megan and Steven Weigel and Carter, Kintyre: her daughter and son-in-law, Tiffany and Rick Perrin, Bismarck and their three children: Nick Perrin and his fiancé Kayleigh Alme, Fargo: Whitney Perrin, Fargo: Katie Perrin, Duluth: her son and daughter-in-law, John and Marsha Krumm, West Fargo and their three children Abby Krumm, Grand Forks, Emily and Jake Krumm, West Fargo: her son and daughter-in-law, Paul and Kristi Krumm, West Fargo and their two children Gracie and Alexis; and her two sisters, Karen and Kyle Gradin, Hensler and Rhonda and Dan Delzer, Minot.
